Artwork Preparation Guidelines for 9-Color DTF Printing (CMYK + RGBO)

To achieve the most vibrant and accurate colors with our advanced 9-Color DTF printing technology (CMYK + RGBO), we recommend submitting artwork in RGB color mode whenever possible.

Traditional CMYK printing has a more limited color gamut, and converting artwork to CMYK before submission can cause certain colors to appear less vibrant.

This is especially noticeable with bright reds, oranges, greens, blues, purples, and neon-like colors.

Since our expanded-color printing system is designed to reproduce a wider range of colors, RGB files allow us to take full advantage of the technology.

For best results, please submit artwork as:

  • RGB Color Mode
  • ⁠300 DPI Resolution
  • ⁠Transparent PNG, PDF, AI, or PSD file
  • ⁠Do not manually convert artwork to CMYK before submission

Our RIP software will perform the color conversion during production using optimized color profiles, helping preserve more color information and deliver a result that is closer to what you see on screen.

Important Note:

RGB colors displayed on monitors and mobile devices may not match printed colors exactly. Final print results can vary depending on the artwork, ink, film, adhesive powder, color profiles, heat press settings, and garment color. However, submitting artwork in RGB provides the best starting point and typically produces superior results compared to converting artwork to CMYK prior to printing.

By providing RGB artwork, you allow our 9-Color DTF system to reproduce the widest possible color range and achieve the highest quality print output.

Frequently Asked Questions

DTF (Direct-to-Film) transfers are a printing method that allows you to transfer designs onto various fabrics using a special film and adhesive powder. This process creates vibrant, durable prints on cotton, polyester, blends, and more.

To apply DTF transfers, preheat your heat press to 300°F (150°C). Place the transfer on your garment, cover with parchment paper, and press for 15 seconds with medium pressure. Allow to cool for 10 seconds, then peel the film while warm.

DTF transfers work on virtually all fabric types including cotton, polyester, cotton blends, canvas, denim, leather, and even some synthetic materials. They're perfect for t-shirts, hoodies, bags, and more.

When properly applied and cared for, DTF transfers can last 50+ washes. For best longevity, wash in cold water, turn garments inside out, and avoid bleach or fabric softeners.

While a heat press is recommended for best results, you can use a household iron in a pinch. Set to the highest heat setting (no steam), apply firm pressure for 15-20 seconds, and ensure even coverage across the entire design.
